vADRIS: Bringing Lawfully Mandated Data Retention to Virtualized Networks

ADRIS – AQSACOM's Data Retention Intelligent Solution – is a multi-sevices solution fulfilling legally mandated Data Retention (DR) requirements of all networks (PSTN, GSM, GPRS, 3G, LTE, CDMA, WCDMA, VoIP, IP, Satellite, etc.) from a centralized management platform.  ADRIS has now been adapted for operation on virtual machines that operate over commodity server platforms.  We call this new product "vADRIS". This capability enables ADRIS to conform to the industry trend of moving network functions to low cost servers, thereby doing away with customized, high cost "silos" of equipment for network and services functions.  It also supports the transition path of service providers towards true NFV.

vADRIS interfaces with a Communications Services Provider's (CSP's) network's Data Collection Points to collect subscriber traffic information, usage data, equipment status data, and other information.  The many features and advantages of ADRIS have been implemented by Aqsacom in vADRIS, including:

  • One point of management for DR to ensure state-of-the art security and reliability.
  • Solution scalability to ensure cost-efficiency for CSPs.
  • Solution flexibility to adapt to Law Enforcement requirements.
  • Clear pricing and technical strategies based on a transparent and constructive collaboration.

vADRIS' seamless network integration within a multi-vendor and multi-service environment frees CSPs from dependence on proprietary network equipment and solutions. At the same time, vADRIS scales with the CSP's network size, bandwidth, and scope of services, hiding the complexity of the data management and analytic processes from the LEA, CSP, and other end users.  Most important, vADRIS can by "synced" with a service provider's evolution towards true NFV.

The Data Collection Points include existing network entities within the CSP's network  (OSS, BSS, CRM, Billing, RADIUS, SMSC, MMSC, DPI probes, etc.).  As virtualized versions of the data collection points become available by their respective vendors, Aqsacom will commit to interfacing vADRIS to them.

Aqsacom is active in a number of initiatives to bring Lawful Interception, Data Retention, and other secure carrier-based operations to virtualized network environments.  For example, Aqsacom has formal representation on the ETSI NFV SEC working group, which aims to address the myriads of issues on secure networking for NFV networks.  Contact Aqsacom for additional information on vADRIS.
